Finance Manager (Group Finances)

TREE AID, an NGO specialising in forestry and natural resource management in the drylands of Africa, seeks a dynamic and results driven professional with experience in charity finance.

This is a fantastic opportunity to support transformational change for some of the world’s poorest people. TREE AID works in the drylands of Africa, using forestry and natural resource management to relieve poverty and protect the environment. We are unique in what we do and have great potential and ambition to grow. Working within the Finance and Resources them, the Finance Manager’s objectives will be to:

  • Provide the Board of Trustees, Senior Management and relevant staff with reliable and timely financial information and analysis of the Group and the UK Charity.
  • Contribute to the development of the TREE AID Group financial systems and procedures.
  • Maintain and develop the UK Charity’s finance and human resources systems and procedures and policies appropriate to its needs.
  • Support the Director Finance & Resources with ensuring that the UK charity meets all legal and statutory requirements and follows organisational policies.
  • Provide the secretariat to the Board of Trustees in their governance of the Charity.
  • Ensure the continuing integrity of TREE AID’s UK financial records and internal controls.

You will have a professional accounting qualification and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in finance management, preferably with an overseas development organisation.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills, an ability to work calmly under pressure to deliver outputs on time and to a high quality.

Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Advisor

We wish to appoint a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Advisor to lead on TREE AID’s Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) processes and the quality of data collection, analysis and reporting across the whole organisation.

This is a great opportunity to bring transformational change to some of the world’s poorest people.  TREE AID works in the drylands of Africa, using agroforestry to relieve poverty and protect the environment. We are unique in what we do and have great potential and ambition to grow. The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Advisor’s key objectives will be to:

  • Support improvement and implementation of monitoring and evaluation processes across the organisation to ensure continuous improvement in the collection, analysis and presentation of evidence of results.
  • Ensure that learning arising from M&E is fed back into future programme development.
  • Support continuous improvement of programme implementation by identifying innovation through analysis of monitoring data.

You will have a background in international development with proven experience of monitoring and evaluation systems.

With excellent evaluation, research and analytical skills and the ability to present and report information accurately and intelligibly, you will take the initiative and work well as part of a team.
