Tree Revolution

Africa is the most deforested continent in the world.Lack of trees leads to land drained of goodness, failed harvests and the disruption of delicate ecosystems. It leads to less protection in the face of droughts and floods. Ultimately, it leads to the poorest paying with their lives.Yet communities need wood for fuel, food and more – and so the cycle continues.Families have no choice but to cut down on the trees they depend on, knowing they’re cutting back their own chances of survival.By joining the Tree Revolution you can break the cycle.

Together we will see 1 million trees planted, protected and producing in 2011, the UN’s International Year of Forests – and millions of lives will be changed.£20 is equivalent to planting 20 trees.

Donate today to the Tree Revolution today and see communities and environments blossom – and Africa’s farmland restored to the flourishing, fertile green place it once was. Facts

  • Almost 6.8 million sq km of Africa was originally covered by forest.
  • Over 90% of West Africa’s original forest has been lost.
  • For every 28 trees cut down in Africa only one is planted.
