Community Giving
With the help of groups like Rotary, Inner Wheel, The Quakers and Tree lovers, TREE AID has supported over 450,000 rural African villagers to transform their lives by planting more than 7 million trees and protecting millions more.
If your Club or Society would like to hear more about TREE AID’s work we can provide speakers through our UK wide Speaker’s Network.
For a simple way to experience a taste of our work why not organise a cake bake and share the bounty of trees baked into delicious cakes. Or hold a fundraising event with African music, dancing or drumming. We can send a slide show about our work in Africa to give some context to the fundraising, as well as advice on some funky African tunes!
Rotary International Partnership
Tree Aid and Rotary are changing lives for rural African families using trees. Trees provide food, shelter, shade, medicines, tools, community cohesion, sustainable income and environmental security. Rotary support for our work can be through awareness raising as well as fundraising - if you like what Tree Aid does, please tell everyone about it! Our Gift Catalogue shows what a difference funds can make on the ground: £10 plants a tree, £170 sets up a tree nursery, £250 sponsors a villager tree entrepreneur. Small amounts of money can make a huge diffference to villager's lives.
Your Club can also make a direct link with the Community Self Reliance Project. Working in Northern Ghana with children in 12 schools, the project is supporting the children to plant and care for a variety of food producing trees in their school grounds. RIBI support means more children are learning about the value of trees for their future sustainable development and environmental security.
TREE AID can provide a speaker for your Club, and if you Adopt the Community Self Reliance project we will send regular reports on its progress so you can see the impact your donation is having for families on the ground in some of Africa's poorest communities. Speakers Network
Whether you are an experienced public speaker or just full of passion for TREE AID, we would love to hear from you if you’d like to help us spread the word about our work. Whatever your personal interest we have a Powerpoint presentation ready to suit, and will provide training and support. Speakers visit groups including Rotary, Inner Wheel, Schools, Churches and Tree related Groups like Community Orchards and botanical societies. If you can: • Commit to a minimum of two presentations per year • Seek out presentation opportunities for yourself or others then please contact sarah.moore@treeaid.org.uk to get started, or to book a presentation from a TREE AID Speaker.
Faith Groups
From Lent and Harvest Festival to Eid ul-Fitr there are many links between religious festivals and TREE AID’s work fighting poverty with some of the poorest communities in Africa. Whatever the occasion, we have everything you need to make an eye catching display about TREE AID and the families we set on the road to self reliance. From trees as vital sources of food to their uses as sacred groves, raising funds for TREE AID is inspiring and educational.
