2010 TREE AID Cycle Challenge

Sign up for the Charity Bike Ride that buys bikes for African families!  

Your challenge is to ride 130km and raise £100 which can buy a bike so families can reach their forestry projects, collect water, transport goods to market and help children get to and from school.

The Ride
130km anti-clockwise around the Avon Cycleway. A scenic training ride for experienced cyclists, or a challenge of distance and endurance for the pleasure rider.

Is there a fundraising target?
Yes, a minimum of £100. You can use Just Giving to set up your fundraising page and easily tell everyone you know about the ride. £100 can buy a bike to help rural farmers get to their fields and their trees, collect and transport water, and take their children to and from school.

How fit do I have to be?
The 2010 TREE AID Cycle Challenge is open to any reasonably fit cyclist with a bike in good condition. Just a small amount of regular training before hand will help you enjoy this ride. Just fill in the registration form and send it to us with your £7 registration fee to secure your place, and we'll send you your free training t-shirt, tips and advice plus your fundraising pack to get you started.

About the Cycle Challenge Route
This is a stunning ride anti-clockwise around the circular Avon Cycleway that takes in the beauty of the Cotswolds, breathtaking views over the Avon Gorge and Severn Estuary, as well as the essential Chew Valley Lake cafe. The ride is hilly in places and follows mainly quiet country lanes and designated cycle paths. Previous cyclists have ranged from the novice to the professional, its a great way to explore the beauty of the Avon countryside, and meet new people on a fun day out.

It's a long way to cycle. . .
Yes! If 130k just seems a bit too much, then you can join a 50k ride leaving from the same place on the same day.

Get set, fundraise! Set up your Just Giving page and tell EVERYONE you know that you are planning to cycle 130km in just one day to transform life for a family in Africa.
