Finance Manager (Group Finance)

Location: Bristol, 35 hours pw

Salary: up to £32k pa + Benefits + Pension

Are you a multi-skilled and experienced charity sector finance professional with the ability to lead? We are now looking for an individual with flair and a commercial approach who can help us build on our success to date. Working with our teams in the UK and Africa, you will help us expand our resources, whilst ensuring that we have the financial, human and physical systems and resources that are needed to achieve its strategic objectives. You will be critical in helping us to maintain the high quality of our work, ensuring that it has lasting impact in the countries where we operate.

As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for the Group’s consolidated accounting, budgeting and forecasting reporting, providing effective decision support to the Senior Management Team and have the opportunity to greatly enhance your knowledge and experience in international development.

Project Finance Officer

Project Finance Officer

Location Burkina Faso

We wish to appoint a Projects Finance Officer to provide accurate, timely, efficient and transparent budgeting, financial recording and reporting for projects in West Africa.

This is a great opportunity to bring transformational change to some of the world’s poorest people.  TREE AID works in the drylands of Africa, using agroforestry to relieve poverty and protect the environment.  We are unique in what we do and have great potential and ambition to grow.

The Projects Finance Officer key objectives will be to:

  • Develop budgets for new projects and reforecast contracted projects in conjunction with programme managers and under guidance from the finance manager.
  • Accurately record project expenditure in line with approved project budget coding, partner contract agreements, TREE AID’s internal procedures, and donor compliance requirements.
  • Oversee preparation of accurate and timely project expenditure reports.
  • Monitor and support IPs to ensure management and reporting of partner grants in line with partner agreements and reporting requirements. Monitor partner balances and requests for grant instalments accordingly.
  • Provide timely financial reports for donors in line with donor contract requirements.

You will have a background in project management, finance and accountancy with proven qualification in professional accountancy and finance.

With excellent skills in Partner and project financial support, working with accounts packages and technical team and the ability to present and report information accurately and intelligibly, you will take the initiative and work well as part of a team.

The Forest Governance Projects Officer key objectives will be to:

  • Coordination of project activities
  • Liaison between stakeholders, to ensure they are informed and engaged
  • Servicing Burkina Faso Forest Governance Learning Group (FGLG)
  • Technical support to local project partners
  • Project Monitoring & Evaluation
  • Coordination of Project Reporting Processes

You will have a background in rural development project management, natural resources management, partners and decentralized structures supports and follow up in the field.

With excellent skills in projects planning, monitoring and evaluation, management, capacity building and technical support and the ability to present and report information accurately and intelligibly, you will take the initiative and work well as part of a team.
