Summer 2016 issue of Update magazine

In this issue:

-Bongo River Trees project – trees and weirs on the Bongo River. TREE AID has been working with its partner RPS to restore riverbanks and improve water retention on the Bongo River. Find out how this successful partnership restored riverbanks and won a Business Charity award for our work!

-The 2015 El Niño event caused severe droughts and a subsequent food crisis in Ethiopia. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we have raised over £14,000 for our Ethiopia Drought Appeal. That is equal to 14,000 new trees!

– Can tree really influence rainfall? Scientists says they can, and at TREE ID we are planting trees where they are most needed, in the drylands of the Sahel.Find out more in our article: ‘How trees can bring rain’.

-We are very proud to be part of the ‘One Tree per Child’ project. With your support, we have set up tree-planting projects to plant 10,000 trees at 10 schools in Mali.
